Training school to enhance knowledge of molecular dynamics simulations

The training school “Molecular Descriptions of Complex Biosystems” is designed for those who already have a basic understanding of molecular dynamics (MD) simulations. It offers an opportunity to expand that knowledge by exploring methods used to study complex systems. It will take place on September 8–9 at the IT4Innovations National Supercomputing Center at VSB–Technical University of Ostrava (VSB-TUO). The event is organized by Petra Čechová, Petra Kührová and Markéta Paloncýová from CATRIN, Palacký University, with organizational support from Michal Otyepka, and it is held under the auspices of COST Action CA21101 “COSY”. Registration closes on August 21.

The goal of the school is to provide a comprehensive overview of methods for studying complex structures, including force field theory, the combination of different molecular types and subsequent analyses.

“The first day of the two-day school will focus on an introduction to force fields used in MD simulations and their more advanced applications, both at the atomic and coarse-grained level. This will be followed by lectures and workshops focusing on simulation techniques for systems containing biomolecules, such as nucleic acids or lipids, which will be addressed separately. On the second day, the focus will shift to nanomaterials and the process of combining different types of systems,” explained Petra Čechová.

Participation in the school is free of charge and is intended for students and researchers with a background in molecular dynamics. The school will be conducted in English. Registration is opened here: https://molecular-descriptions-complex-biosystems.cost-cosy.eu/
