Why CATRIN Charity ball?
We have decided to organize the first CATRIN ball and combine this social event with support of the Úsměv mámy organization. We consider its mission—to help women cope with the mentally demanding period of motherhood—to be extremely important. The research we do at CATRIN is intended to serve society and contribute to a better quality of life. However, this does not only mean new technologies or the search for new therapeutic agents, but also enhancing mental health and human solidarity.
Úsměv mámy addresses a topic that deserves attention and an open discussion. We appreciate the courage of all those who talk about these issues and help others, and we want to contribute to ensuring that they have sufficient resources to continue their commendable work.

Support for mothers with mental health issues during motherhood
Úsměv mámy (Mom´s smile) offers help to women who experience mental distress or more serious mental health issues during pregnancy or motherhood, such as depression, anxiety, or postpartum psychosis. Women can turn to peer support, i.e. help from trained women who have gone through similar difficulties themselves, and can participate in support groups or individual sessions with experts. The organization also helps the women's families to better understand their situation and to be able to encourage them.

During the ball an online fundraising campaign will be going on.
The proceeds from the ball and the online campaign will help Úsměv mámy continue its work, which changes the lives of women and their families.

Natálie Tichánková
An actress with a unique style and a singer with a captivating voice who has been performing at the Moravian Theatre in Olomouc since 2017, but still makes guest appearances at the Moravian-Silesian National Theatre in Ostrava, the Palace Theatre in Prague, and in the touring production of Odhalená pravda (The Revealed Truth) by the StageArtz agency. You may have seen her in several TV series and commercials, and she has lent her voice to advertisements, radio podcasts, and audiobooks. Music is close to her heart, so in addition to theatre, she sings in her band 4GOOD. If you want to see how the host transforms into a singer at midnight, you have another reason to come.

Would you like to meet an actor you know from Czech films and TV series such as Tmavomodrý svět, Rebelové, and Četnické humoresky, who has lent his voice to characters such as Rajesh Koothrappali from The Big Bang Theory, Merry from The Lord of the Rings, and many others? That gives you another reason to visit the 1st CATRIN Charity Ball for Úsměv mámy. Petr Burian is not only an actor and presenter, but also a master's student of social work with a focus on communication and applied psychotherapy. He also works at the Forum Theater, which focuses on primary prevention in schools and children's homes.
