Graduated in Cellular Biology and Physiology from the Faculty of Science, Nice-Sophia Antipolis University in Nice, France. She completed her doctoral study in the field of Molecular Biology at University Jean-Monnet in Saint-Etienne, France. In 2007, she got appointed with a Junior researcher position at the Faculty of Science, Palacky University in Olomouc, Czech Republic. In 2011, she joined the Department of Molecular Biology of the Center Hana for Biotechnological and Agricultural Research, Faculty of Science, Palacký University, and became the head of the Department in April 2017. Since 2020, she has been leading the research group of Plant Genetics and Engineering at CATRIN – CRH.

Véronique Bergougnoux-Fojtik leads the Plant Genetics and Engineering research group at CATRIN–CRH, building on a background in cellular physiology and molecular biology.
