SYMBIOS se zaměří na přeměnu odpadní biomasy
Sachan Sharad Kumar has been awarded the prestigious Marie Skłodowska-Curie Fellowship with an impressive score of 99.2 percent. The SYMBIOS project, officially launched on May 1, is focused on converting waste biomass into clean, high-energy biofuels through breakthrough technologies. It represents another scientific contribution to the global effort to end dependence on fossil fuels.
“We are combining cutting-edge nanocatalysts with metal-organic frameworks (MOFs) to engineer ultra-efficient systems that convert low-value oxygen-containing small molecules of biomass into clean, high-density fuels. This will contribute to the circular economy and reduce energy costs in line with the European Union’s climate goals,” said the researcher.
The host institution of the project is CATRIN at Palacký University, with Aristeidis Bakandritsos, leader of the Magnetic Nanostructures research group, being a mentor.
The Marie Skłodowska-Curie Actions Postdoctoral Fellowships (MSCA PF) 2024 programme under Horizon Europe enables Czech institutions to attract talented scientists and send their postdoctoral researchers abroad.
