Collaboration between CATRIN and the Cracow University of Technology becomes more specific

The meeting of representatives from CATRIN and the Cracow University of Technology held today in Olomouc can be seen as another step towards strengthening the mutual cooperation. Researchers from CATRIN introduced their material research laboratories to the Polish guests and focused on potential joint research topics as well as student exchanges.

“We first met at the NanoLumCat conference in Ostrava showcasing the latest advances in carbon dots and single-atom catalysis, which our colleagues from Krakow and their students have attended repeatedly. During our second meeting, we agreed that we needed to deepen our collaboration and they therefore accepted our invitation to Olomouc,” explained the origins of the cooperation, Michal Otyepka from CATRIN.

While the Polish colleagues had previously become familiar with CATRIN’s work in computational chemistry, the aim of today’s meeting in Olomouc was to present local research in materials synthesis and characterization, photoelectrochemistry, and sensing.

“I am very pleased that we have had the opportunity to get to know each other better and have already started discussing concrete steps such as exchanging experience, students, and joint projects,” Otyepka concluded.
