Hana Kupková receives UP award for non-academic staff
For the third year already, Palacký University has honored its non-academic staff. Among the 12 laureates who received their awards from Rector Michael Kohajda during the ceremony was Hana Kupková from CATRIN.
UP introduced the recognition of the invaluable role of non-academic staff in the smooth running and functioning of the university three years ago. However, this year was the first time that the awards were presented during the UP annual awards ceremony for 2025.
“We honored our non-academic colleagues for the first time at this ceremony, and it is only appropriate, as they are an integral and irreplaceable part of the university community. Their work is often inconspicuous, but that makes it all the more important,” said Rector Michael Kohajda.
Hana Kupková works as the CATRIN Welcome Point officer, where she provides comprehensive support for the arrival and adaptation of foreign CATRIN employees. Thanks to her personal approach and excellent organizational skills, the onboarding of new colleagues runs smoothly—from visa and accommodation arrangements to practical assistance in meeting their various needs.
“The onboarding of a foreign researcher is planned several months ahead. If everything works out and the new employee is content at CATRIN, I feel delighted. I am very happy about the award and see it not only as recognition for myself, but also for everyone else involved in the chain of welcoming foreign scientists,” said Kupková.
